Many users of the OmeTV app on iPad iPhone 16,15 and iOS 18 have been facing a frustrating problem: the camera is not working, and access seems to have been blocked. A message is often shown saying that the camera permission has been rejected, even when the settings appear to be correct. This problem has been reported by users for months, and in many cases, it has not been solved by typical steps like reinstalling the app or restarting the phone.
If this problem is being faced by you too, don’t worry. A few simple methods can be followed to fix it.
This issue is usually caused by camera permissions not being granted properly to the OmeTV app. On iPhones, apps must be given camera access manually. If access was denied the first time, it won’t be asked again unless certain actions are taken.
Also, the camera might not work if other apps like FaceTime, Discord, or Zoom are open, because they may already be using the camera. On some versions of OmeTV, the camera won’t activate until a picture is taken or a profile is updated, which makes it seem like it’s broken.
To force OmeTV to ask for camera access:
This method works because some apps don’t ask for camera access until a picture is taken.
If that doesn’t work, permissions can be given manually:
Once this is done, the app should be reopened.
Other apps that use the camera (like WhatsApp, Instagram, or Zoom) should be closed. These apps may block the camera from being used by OmeTV. All such apps must be shut down completely, and then OmeTV should be restarted.
If the above steps don’t help:
