If you bought the Apple Vision Pro (AVP) thinking you could use it as a virtual monitor for your Mac, you might be surprised to find that it doesn’t work if you use different user accounts. This can be frustrating, especially if you share your Mac with others or have separate work and personal accounts.
Here’s what’s really going on and what you can or can’t do about it.
The Virtual Display feature on the Apple Vision Pro only works if both the Mac and the Vision Pro are signed in with the same Apple ID. That means:

Hopefully, Apple will improve this in the future. Until then, be aware of this limitation before you plan to use the AVP as your main monitor.
