How to fix HP Hotkey Support brightness not working ?

Many HP laptop users are reporting issue with the Hotkey support not working.  Many variants of the HP like  EliteBook x360 etc running on Windows 11 and Windows 10 are facing the issue.

In HP the Hotkey “fn”+f3/f4 combination lets to adjust the screen brightness manually but recently the Hotkey stopped working and nothing happens when you press the Hotkey.

One reason for Hotkey not able to work for brightness in HP laptop is pending chipset update. HP Elite Dragonfly G2 and the brightness key issue is fixed for many users after a BIOS update and after update the keys work correctly on both Windows and Linux.

How to fix HP Hotkey Support brightness not working ?

The hotkey issue could also be with the driver not working properly and to fix that go to HP website and check for new driver updates. Download the driver update and see if this fixes the issue.

If the HP hotkey support brightness is not working then this could be due to some glitch in your Windows. To fix that you check and try updating the Laptop to latest Windows version update. You will also see update pending icon on the taskbar and by simply clicking on it will take you to the update.
