Why Facebook Nearby friends not working 2022 : iPhone /Android ?

Facebook Nearby friend let you find out your nearby friends in the area. Specially if you are travelling to new place then Nearby friends let you search for your friends in that location.

Facebook has decided to discontinue the location based services like Nearby friends from 31 May 2022. Nearby friend let the users share their location with Facebook friends. In fact many Facebook users of both Android and iOS have start getting notification about discontinuation of Nearby Friends.

There are other location based changes done by the Facebook, is gearing up for the removal of its Time Alerts, Background Location, as well its Location History.

As per one Facebook spokes person “While we’re deprecating some location-based features on Facebook due to low usage, people can still use Location Services to manage how their location information is collected and used,”.

Interestingly the Facebook may stop the location based feature in nearby future but won’t stop collecting users location information for other usage. However the users have option to turn this off from iOS privacy option.
